“Can I charge my cell phone here?”
Is what she said to me.
That was my introduction to
The gal named Natalie.
We were to fly to Edmonton.
(Her home. My far away.)
In the airport waiting gate
with nothing much to say.
The friendly face was welcome though
when traveling alone.
We’d chit chat about travel.
She told me of her home,
Helpful thoughts about the place,
Couldn’t have a better guide.
Only wish I’d time to stay.
The place I would have tried.
She had my back while boarding
when my mind was gone,
And kept my nerves from fretting
that I’d done something wrong.
I’d like to thank this person
Who was a friend to me.
First time flying alone no more!
Thank you Natalie!
