You may have heard or seen lists of names for Jesus. It’s a somewhat popular past time in churches to list off names and/or adjectives prophets and angels used to refer to Jesus. Unfortunately, not many of us think of ourselves as prophets or angels, so these lists can be hard to connect with. Below is a list of names and adjectives that I’d guess were closer to the ones used by humans around Jesus when he was born and starting to grow.
Bastard.
Son of a B*#$^. The slut’s son. Son of the crazy Mary.
Trash.
Immigrant. Alien. Refugee.
Poor.
Hungry. Sad. Lonely.
Hated.
Shameful. Sinful. Intolerable.
Bastard.
It puts new meaning to the word Emmanuel (God with us) doesn’t it?
